The Fladda Shawl uses the traditional Shetland lace patterns of the bead and a Vandyke edging. Fladda is a knitted lace shawl, which means that it is patterned on each row. It is knitted on a garter base, which creates a reversible lace shawl.
This crescent shaped shawl is knitted from the neck down with the lace edging knitted on once the main body of the shawl is finished.
Due to the number of stitches a circular needle is helpful although can be made on straight knitting needles.
Once completed it is 112cm x 42cm in size.
