In traditional Shetland lace knitting lace, diamonds are a common feature of haps and shawls. The lace diamonds of Roer Mill are created by increasing the number of muckle (large) holes in each set of diamonds.
This crescent lace shawl is knitted from the neck downwards on a garter base making it a reversible shawl.
